aimswebPlus® Benchmark Assessments

AimswebPlus is a nationally recognized assessment system used to screen and monitor student progress in reading and mathematics. Students in kindergarten through grade 8 participate in benchmark assessments three times each year (fall, winter, and spring). The results help teachers identify student strengths, determine areas where additional support may be needed, and monitor growth throughout the school year. AimswebPlus data is used alongside classroom performance to guide instruction and intervention.

Grades 3-8 ELA and Mathematics Tests

English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics tests are administered each spring to students in grades 3-8 across New York state. These tests are required by the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015. Tests are designed to measure student mastery of learning standards in each subject. Information for parents about Grades 3-8 testing can be found here: http://www.nysed.gov/state-assessment/parent-resources

Grade 5 New York State Science Test

Students in grade 5 participate in the New York State Science Test each spring. The assessment measures students’ understanding of the New York State P–12 Science Learning Standards and includes questions that assess scientific knowledge, reasoning, and the application of science concepts. Results provide valuable information about student learning and help inform future science instruction.
